Happy Easter!!!

Wow, what an amazing time is Easter, what an amazing event. I never understood "the Lamb of God" until I began reading the Bible for myself - and I went to church 40 years prior to that. My mom was the organist so we never missed a Sunday, but I missed the meaning of the "Lamb of God".

But about 10 years ago, I began to read the Bible myself, instead of just 1/2 listening to another person. NOW I GET IT! I PRAY YOU GET IT! Read your Bible, it's alive.

In the Old Testament days, God said something must die to cover your sins. It was a perfect lamb without flaw, that was the Jewish Passover, the same time of year as our Easter. It was a picture of what was to come, Jesus, then as innocent as a perfect lamb. Jesus died at the same time the Jews were killing their lambs.

But unlike the lamb, Jesus had a choice. He didn't have to be tortured and butchered. HE ONLY DID IT BECAUSE HE SAW YOU. HE KNEW HE WAS YOUR ONLY HOPE. God says our sins our too great to be covered by the blood of an animal, the ONLY way to cover your sins on THAT day (your day, and we all have one coming) is to accept what Jesus did for you. How easy is that?!)

We serve a Lord that says "believe that I love you that much". Other religions have their God saying "prove it". Your God loves you so much He would have went through it, even if you were the only one. He personally cares about you, as an individual, and your life.

I hope you have the most wonderful Easter of all, as it represents newness, holiness and hope. Amen. Please let your kids know what Easter REALLY means. It means that at anytime you can be forgiven and start over. Wow.

Holly's Habitude: I just wanted to scream!

Today was one of those days that I could have screamed! You know those days, password complications, Computer problems, bill issues, hard decisions, money challenges, time constraints, kids running around, TV too loud, phone ringing but no one answering, everybody's hungry, everything is too loud and no one can find the toilet paper but you. Oh, and I remembered the last 30 minutes I had to go vote. You want to scream. I wanted to scream, but this day I didn't. I haven't really "lost it" in a while actually.

There really is a life of peace awaiting you. I know because our Creator tells us so in His Word. I love what I do because I live what I teach, so I know that it works! During my trials today I decided to focus on what I could accomplish, instead of pulling my hair out and wouldn't you know it, just like the Bible says, my patience paid off. It all works great now, thank you for your patience with my computer and e mail issues.

Starting your New Year over

The "New Year" starts at many different points for many different people.  For the "Boyd Family" ours is today.  As most of you know, my husband's mother (Grammy) lived with us for 2 years: severe alzheimer's.   I took care of her full time.  She was a blessing for us, yet a relief for us, and an answered prayer for mercy for her when she passed away peacefully Monday.

Just know that it is okay to start your "New Year" at any point, you didn't miss the boat if your goals haven't been met yet, or even started yet.  You can do that today.   So "Happy New Year!"... amen!

Let our kids know what to expect

This will vary according to ages and what your children already have, but my husband and I are just now getting to where our kids are just starting to "test us" and we want to have so they know up front, what their consequences will be. We Christians call it "sowing and reaping" Here is ours that is hanging on frig and each in their rooms. Maybe this can help you. When kids know what to expect ahead of time, THEY CHOOSE THEIR CONSEQUENCES.  Now it falls on them, not you.

And, of course, it is based on our Christian values.   Do we all have children that know our Christian values?

This helps in so many ways, you must see, because if you were like me as a kid (and I still question), I wanted to know "why?"  why is something important or right or wrong.  This tells them.

It is Time.

This is something I will fight for.
I hope you read it all the way through.

The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple! The people demanded it. That was in 1971...before computers, before e-mail, before cell phones, etc.

Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took 1 year or less to become the law of the land...all because of public pressure.

I'm asking each addressee to forward this Holly's Habitude or to re-tweet and/or facebook this to a minimum of twenty people on your address list; in turn ask each of those to do likewise. In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This is one idea that really should be passed around.

Congressional Reform Act of 2011

1. No Tenure / No Pension.   A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.

2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security.
All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.
 
3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.

4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%. 
 
5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people. 
 
6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.


7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/12.
The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen. Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.
If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will only take three days for most people (in the U.S. ) to receive the message. 

 

Our Country is in trouble because of greedy people who don't care.
